Texas FFL Transfer & LTC Guide

What is an FFL transfer?

An FFL transfer is how a firearm legally moves from an out-of-state seller (or another dealer) to you. Federal law requires the firearm to ship to a licensed dealer — an FFL — who then completes the required paperwork and hands the firearm to you in person.

Transfer fees at Pete's

• $25 for the first firearm when you have a valid Texas LTC.
• $30 for the first firearm without an LTC (FBI/NICS check required).
• $15 for each additional firearm on the same transfer appointment.

How to use your Texas LTC discount

If you hold an active Texas License to Carry, bring the physical card to your appointment. Presenting a valid LTC lets Pete complete the transfer without a separate FBI/NICS call, which is why the fee is lower.

Step-by-step

1. Contact us first. Call or text 903-998-0262 before your seller ships. We'll send our FFL info and confirm we can accept the shipment.
2. Seller ships to our FFL. Once we confirm, your seller (dealer, auction site, or online retailer) ships the firearm to us.
3. Book your appointment. When the firearm arrives, we schedule a private pickup at our Henderson location.
4. Bring valid ID (and LTC if applicable). Government-issued photo ID with your current Texas address. Add your LTC to unlock the $25 rate.
5. Complete the paperwork. Pete will walk you through the ATF Form 4473. Firearms are released only after all required paperwork, background-check requirements, and applicable federal and Texas legal requirements are satisfied.

Petes Guns and Stuff LLC is home-based in Henderson, Texas, by appointment only. The private pickup address is shared once your appointment is confirmed.
